Mandatory Continuing Legal Education If any lecture in the Conference is relevant to your immediate or long term needs in relation to professional development or the practice of law, you should claim one (1) MCLE unit for each hour of attendance, not including refreshment breaks. The annual requirement for solicitors who are accredited specialists is 20 MCLE units, calculated from 1st April to 31st March the following year. MCLE units accrued in the period 1 January 31 March in any year may be carried forward into the following MCLE year but can only be counted in one MCLE year: rule 57.10. The number of claimable units for each Conference session is indicated in the body of the program and on the Registration Form pages.

Regulation 176 and Rule 57
The Conference provides the opportunity for solicitors to comply with the New South Wales Government's mandatory CLE requirement of Regulation 176 of the Legal Profession Regulation 2005 (NSW) and Rule 57 of the New South Wales Professional Conduct and Practice Rules 2013. Rule 57 was previously Rule 42 in the old Rules. Family lawyers should see Session 17 of the Conference program. Solicitors who attend Session 18 Online Legal Research also fulfil the requirements of Rule 57.

Cancellation of Conference Session Registrations
Cancellations of registrations for Conference sessions must be in writing. Cancellations will be accepted and refunds paid, less 15% administration fee, when they are made up to seven (7) days prior to the Conference sessions. Cancellations after seven days prior to Conference sessions are transferable but not refundable. People who have registered for Conference sessions and fail to attend are liable for 100% of the registration fees.
